On-the-Fly Post Processing
Tired of keeping track of all the G-code files for a job? What about the disruption caused when a schedule changes and a job needs to go up on a different machine than what was originally planned? Can you be sure your machine operators are downloading the most up to date programs to run on the machine? Has your shop ever run the wrong program for a job? For every shop, the answer is 'yes' to one or more of these questions. That's why we designed Prospector™ to let you post process programs on-the-fly. It's as as easy as 1-2-3...
STEP 1
Open the project containing the programs you need to run. Select from the NC Programs tree-control the programs you wish to run on the machine....

STEP 2
Choose Send to Control from the Program menu....
STEP 3
Choose the machine tool to post-process the programs for and click OK.
Prospector's on-the-fly post processing lets you name and configure as many post processors was you wish. Associated with each machine tool is a user defined name so there's no confusion which machine is which, default file extension (e.g. .cnc) suitable for the control and a default output directory. Many modern CNCs can be networked to allow post processing directly to the CNC disk drive.
Standard Features of Prospector Post-processing Include:
- Comprehensive library of post processors includes as standard equipment.
- Easy-to-use installation wizard that is integrated into Prospector makes installing a new post processor a simple task.
- High speed machining options include:
- Filtering of redundant points to reduce the amount of data sent to the control.
- Arc (G02/G03) output.
- Conversion of rapids (G00) to fast feed (G01) moves for high speed controls.
- Prospector can also be configured to output a series of user-defined standard comments to the post-processed file. Additional user comments can be added to any file.
