Recommended Upgrades

Prospector NEMA-12 Enclosure
System performance is key to getting the most out of Prospector™. Recommended upgrades to improve overall through include the following in order of importance:
  • Additional memory. Adding more memory to a workstation can have an appreciable affect on the overall performance of the software. This is particularly true if you typically work on large data sets.
  • Multi-processors. Prospector is a multi-threaded application. This means that compute intensive operations are executed concurrently with the interactive process. With a multi-processor system, the interactive response time of the system does not slow down while other compute intensive tasks are running as threads because the additional processor(s) take up the load.
  • Fast CPU speeds. The faster the processor, the more throughput you can get with
    the system.
  • A large 21" monitor is preferred for shop floor use.

  • Spaceball® 4000
Prospector supports unique input devices from 3dconnextion. 3dconnexion specializes in innovative products such as the SpaceBall® 4000. With the SpaceBall 4000, you can intuitively zoom, pan and rotate models, exploring and navigating your designs as naturally as if they were objects in the real world. • A wheel-style mouse such as this IntelliMouse™ Explorer from Microsoft® has the added advantage of letting you zoom in and out using the mouse wheel.
